Magna carta

This year marks the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. On 15th of June 1215 King John sealed the document known as The Magna Carta, one of the most important documents in history establishing the principle that everyone is subject to the law, even the king, and guarantees the rights of individual, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial.

Written in Latin, the English translation of Magna Carta is Great Charter, also the name of our new one off beer, created especially to mark the anniversary. At 4.3% this dark rich ruby-hued beer with caramel and toffee flavours is balanced with dark malts and rich fruity aromas.

The beer will be available mid May from Oldershaws brewery.
